Rachel's Pick of the Week

Swan Lake State Park  We enjoy the swimming area with the relief of having lifeguard supervision, regular park upkeep, top notch playground, picnic sites with grills and walking trails. Toilets and changing rooms are also available for use. We normally pack a picnic lunch and plenty of toys to play with our daughter. Great for kids and adults of all ages. On our way out we will get some Stone Fox Farm Creamery Ice Cream in Monroe.  Sometimes if you give them notice you are in the area they will let you go and see the cows and see the ice cream making process <3 They don't sell on site in Monroe they have a truck you can catch if you are lucky/ stand. They also sell pints in Swanville, which is equally delicious.  Also keep in mind this is a Maine State Parks so it is $3 for admission $1 ages 5-12  and free for children under 5. Some Libraries have free state parks passes.
